About us

 

The Cairo Brown Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) located in Killeen, TX. It was founded in 2018 Shanet and Cleo Brown after the loss of their son Cairo Desmond Brown on 07/27/2018 to Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). 

The Cairo Brown Foundation since being established has raised money and donated toys through Toys for Tots in 2018 and 2019, sponsored a family in 2020, and raised and donated toys to the Let's Move Killeen Community Organization's 1st Annual Christmas Party December 2021. The foundation hosted their 1st Annual Charity Dinner 11/05/2022 in Killeen, TX.The goal is to continue to provide to the community by expanding to grief and doula services.

Shanet Brown

Founder

My name is Shanet Brown. I am the founder and president of The Cairo Brown Foundation. I am a boy mom three living on earth and one up above. I am a special education teacher for Killeen ISD. I am the founder & president of The Cairo Brown Foundation. My husband Cleo Brown is the Co-Founder. I am currently a doctorate student at Liberty University majoring in EdD in Community Care and Counseling-Traumatology located in Lynchburg, Virginia. I have my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M University-Central Texas located in Killeen, TX. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Human Development concentration in Psychology from SUNY Empire State University located in Saratoga Springs, NY. I have my Associates in Liberal Arts from Nassau Community College located in Garden City, New York.

Cleo Brown

Co-Founder & Event Director

Cleo Brown is a loving family man, entrepreneur, Master Barber, an Army veteran, and overall jack of all trades. He is the owner of Batoni Brand which is an apparel brand that also provides event management in the Greater Killeen area.

Shawn Golden

Community Director

Ms. Shawn  Golden was born in Hampton, Virginia. She is the mother of five children. Three girls (9, 23 and 26) and two boys (4 and 25). She also has three grandchildren. She is a veteran of the United States Army (92YG1), a Licensed Master Social Worker, a Certified Financial Social Worker, a Certified Life Coach, and a notary. She holds a certification in ministerial studies through the Don Bradford Bible College located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  She is an entrepreneur as well as a mom manager.  She is a daughter, sister, friend, and confidant to many just to name a few of the hats she wears. 

 

Dynesha Williams

Marketing Director

Dynesha Williams, CEO of Slim Fit Co, and Lead Support Professional at Central Counties Services. She is also a mother of one daughter. 

Our Mission

The overall mission for The Cairo Brown Foundation is to raise awareness about Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). The foundation is looking to advance into providing peer counseling and grief support groups focused on child loss. As well as providing doula care services to families in need.
